Job Responsibilities
As a Safety Science Analyst, your responsibilities include:
Case Intake and Triage
- Managing safety data from sources such as spontaneous reports and clinical trials.
Adverse Event Processing
- Entering safety data into adverse event tracking systems.
- Drafting patient narratives and coding adverse events using MedDRA.
- Assisting with listedness assessments for marketed products.
- Generating queries and consulting medical staff to resolve discrepancies.
Submission and Reporting
- Processing expedited Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reports and periodic safety reports.
- Submitting documents to clients, regulatory bodies, and ethics committees while adhering to timelines.
Compliance and Documentation
- Working within Fortrea’s Quality Management System framework.
- Maintaining adverse event documentation and reconciling databases.
- Archiving project documentation as per regulatory standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Building relationships across departments to support regulatory compliance.
Additional Duties
- Completing other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Background
- Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related fields (B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D, MSc, BSc).
Experience
- 1 – 3 years in safety science, pharmacovigilance, or clinical research preferred.
Technical Proficiency
- Familiarity with safety data systems and adverse event coding (MedDRA).
- Knowledge of global safety regulations and reporting processes.
