Position Overview
As a Team Lead in Mammalian Cell Culture, you will be responsible for managing upstream experiments, overseeing technical teams, and driving collaboration with Biocon’s R&D facility in Bengaluru. This full-time, on-site role is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Biocon Biologics Hiring for Team Lead
Key Responsibilities
- Experiment Oversight
- Lead mammalian cell culture experiments using shake flasks, Ambr15, Ambr 250, and 5L bioreactors.
- Collaborate with the Pilot team to scale up processes to 50L bioreactors.
- Troubleshooting
- Address technical challenges during experiments and guide team members in problem-solving.
- Data Management
- Ensure data compliance with ALCOA principles for traceability and reliability.
- Analyze experimental data to drive technical decisions.
- Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with the Bengaluru R&D team to align on project goals.
- Present experimental data in inter-departmental meetings and prepare updates for senior management.
- Operational Support
- Manage lab operations, including equipment installation, SOP development, and 5S activities.
- Oversee procurement and resource allocation for smooth lab functioning.
- Training & Development
- Train team members in technical report writing and experimental methodologies.
- Organize technical and non-technical training sessions for continuous professional development.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 9–13 years of industrial experience in upstream cell culture, including process development, scale-up, scale-down, and process characterization.
- Educational Background:
- MSc / BSc / M.Pharma / B.Pharma / B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech / Diploma in relevant fields.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in managing mammalian cell culture processes in lab-scale bioreactors.
- Knowledge of data mining, modeling, digital twins, and CFD is a significant advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management abilities.
