Role Overview
As a Medical Coding Analyst, you will:
- Analyze medical records and assign ICD-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes accurately.
- Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM guidelines, AMA, AHA, CMS updates, and NCCI Edits.
- Review documentation for minor surgical procedures, vaccinations, and laboratory CPT codes.
- Verify and adjust coding accuracy based on NCCI edits and LCD/NCD coverage determinations.
- Maintain HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and system security.
- Stay updated with coding changes and enhance team productivity and quality.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Life Science or Medical Science graduates (B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D, MSc, BSc).
- Certifications:
- Certified Professional Coders (CPC/COC/CCS/CIC) through AAPC/AHIMA.
- Certification validity must be at least three months from the joining date.
- Experience: 0–2 years of relevant experience in medical coding.
- Skills Required:
- Proficiency in ICD guidelines, CPT codes, and human anatomy.
- Basic understanding of ED/EM levels, modifiers, and NCCI edits.
- Strong attention to detail, adherence to confidentiality, and team collaboration.
