Role and Responsibilities
As a Scientist I, Protein Biology, you will play a key role in the Antibody Team, focusing on engineering and developing antibodies with high quality and specificity. Your responsibilities include:
Core Duties:
- Experimental Planning: Conduct experiments efficiently to meet project timelines.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of experimental results in lab notebooks and data sheets.
- Research and Development: Stay updated with advancements in antibody development, protein engineering, and molecular biology.
- Reporting: Present findings through oral and written reports in team meetings.
- Workspace Management: Organize shared workspaces and monitor reagent usage.
- Attention to Detail: Execute experiments with precision and adherence to schedules.
Key Qualifications
Educational Background:
- Master’s degree with 0-4 years of experience, or a Ph.D. (recently submitted) in life sciences or related fields.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in biochemical and immunoassay workflows, including:
- Recombinant protein expression
- ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting
- Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
- Strong molecular biology skills:
- High-throughput cloning
- PCR, plasmid construction, DNA sequencing
- Experience troubleshooting scientific challenges and applying solutions effectively.
Software Skills:
- Molecular biology software
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Statistical tools like GraphPad Prism
Additional Knowledge:
- Theoretical or practical experience in antibody development.
- Basic knowledge of microscopy is an advantage.
